OUR LAYING FLOCK
A little about fluffy-bottomed our girls.
We are not a commercial egg farm by any means. Our original flock included Rhode Island Red, Barred Rock, Brahma, Marans, and Americana chickens. While chicken math took over, their environment grew right along with them. We started out with a prefabricated coop from a box store to our chicken barn which now houses our laying hens. Our gals are given access to forage naturally in their own pasture. They are never given hormones or unnecessary antibiotics. We also do not expose them to unnatural light cycles or force molting to increase or continue production. We simply let them be chickens. Eggs are produced naturally, on the hen’s laying schedule. Eggs are available year round. Production does naturally decline some in the winter but picks right back up in the spring.
